For those who are not yet registered as users of our library, we have prepared a short guide:
Do I need to be a permanent resident of Warsaw to use the library services?
No, anyone interested in using the library services is welcome, regardless of their place of residence. However, you must register with the library.
How can I register with the library?
You need to approach the librarian on duty to fill out the registration form and show a valid photo ID.
Do I need a separate library card for each library branch?
No, one library card from the Public Library in the Włochy District is sufficient to use the services of all the library branches within the Włochy library network. You can also use the library collections with your Warsaw City Card or electronic student ID after registering them in the library system.
Where can I check if the book/magazine/audiobook/film/game I need is available in the Library?
You can check the availability of materials in the online Library Catalog at https://katalog.bpwlochy.waw.pl/, which contains information about all the library’s collections.
How long can library materials be borrowed?
All library materials are available for a borrowing period of 30 days.
Can I order books online?
Yes, you can order materials from the online catalog. To log in, use the login details sent to the email address provided during registration.
Can I check the status of my library account online?
Yes, every reader can log into the online catalog to check their account status, including current loans, reservations, borrowing history, and fees.
Can I use the Internet in the library?
Yes, every reader can use the designated computers with internet access for free during library hours. Internet stations are available for 1 hour. If no one is waiting for access, the time can be extended. You can also save data to your own storage devices and print documents (according to the regulations).
Can I use my own laptop in the library?
Yes, this is possible. Upon arrival, you need to report to the librarian on duty.
Can I use Wi-Fi in the library?
Yes, Wi-Fi is available in the:
- Reading Room and Scientific Lending Library No. VI,
- Lending Library No. 17,
- Lending Library No. 28,
- Lending Library No. 71.
Library Hours:
- Monday 1:00pm–8:00pm
- Tuesday – Friday 10:00am–8:00pm
- Saturday: 10:00am–3:00pm (only Reading Room and Scientific Lending Library No. VI, Lending Library No. 17, Lending Library No. 28)
Summer Hours:
- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 2:00pm-8:00pm
- Tuesday, Friday 10:00am-3:00pm
